There are no fortifications beyond Chasiv Yar, and Kostyantynivka is not prepared for defense. Kurakhove isn’t either. Selydove, within the city, was completely unprepared for defense; now they are frantically trying to do something. There are no defense lines beyond Vuhledar, and the chaos created by Syrskyi in the 72nd Brigade due to the removal of the brigade commander at the peak of the Russian offensive, along with the non-prioritized replenishment of a key unit, now makes the loss of Vuhledar a matter of time.
Syrskyi deliberately tore the 3rd Assault Brigade apart when they started raising the issue that they should be acting as a single, cohesive assault unit.
The commander of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade, who had led the unit from the very beginning in Avdiivka and essentially formed one of the best ground brigades, was removed!
And these are far from all the recent examples…
The only reinforcements being sent to Donetsk and Kharkiv regions are newly created “zombie” brigades made up of mobilized people who have not participated in combat and flee out of fear and lack of training. The predominantly mobilized officer corps of these brigades (“jackets”) has not undergone coordination and does not know the basics. This continues to happen instead of prioritizing the replenishment of combat brigades.
The elite of the Ukrainian military has been taken away from here! Meanwhile, thousands of soldiers remain in the rear, in numerous bloated headquarters and overstaffed units.
Around the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration, fortifications are now being built, and they are the most modern ones constructed since the full-scale invasion began. However, these fortifications mostly have no connection with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They are the product of horizontal coordination among military administrations, local units, engineers of various origins, the command of the eastern front Command “Khortytsia,” and benefactors who deliberately bypass outdated and disconnected-from-reality instructions handed down from the higher military staffs. In the past, people were afraid to disobey, now they don’t care. They do what needs to be done.
The disconnect between the Kyiv military headquarters and the front has occurred. Here, they are not ready to surrender Donetsk to the Russians, while there — they do not know what reality is.
Syrskyi may continue to play in his “Kursk sandbox” (considering the risks he has ignored and his constant lies, I will now call it that, unfortunately), but how many more lives and territories are he and Umerov willing to trade?
Mr. President, you are being misled. Remove them, tear the Armed Forces of Ukraine from their bloody “paws”! If Syrskyi lies to you this way, it shows how little he respects you as his leader and how little he cares about the lives of Ukrainian citizens. Mr. President, they are mocking you and every one of us. Save the Armed Forces of Ukraine, save us, and give us hope.
